Since the introduction of my kiddo in my life, finding time for self-care has been difficult, not to mention, figuring out what the heck self-care even is. We’ve been told as moms and women, that taking baths and indulging in chocolate, is self-care, which it can be. However, it is more than that. Getting enough sleep, eating, enjoying the sun to increase those levels of Vitamin D, seeing a therapist. These things help with our mental health, which to me is what self-care is about.
While perusing Kindle Unlimited, I came across a book about self-care based on the zodiac. Each sign is broken down in a separate book but it also gives a good overview of the signs, along with sun signs, polarity, and which element the signs belong to. It also gives a nice breakdown of what is and is not self-care because we all keep getting conflicting information on that. The second half of the book is suggestions on what to do self-care-wise based on your sign.
I’m a Libra, which is an air sign, so some of my suggestions are cloud watching, enjoying some fresh air outside, learning aikido, recording my ideas, and investing in some silk pajamas. Some of the suggestions I already do. I love sitting outside with the sun hitting my face, letting me soak up vitamin D. The chirp of the birds and the warmth on my skin is incredibly relaxing. I constantly record my ideas because I’m an idea type of gal. I try to do deep breathing, not only for myself but for my kiddo as well.
All in all, this gave me some ideas of what to do for self-care while also learning about my sign and the zodiac. I would recommend this book series to anyone who wants a quick, fun read that can help you expand your ideas of self-care.
